33 weeks really?

Yesterday marked 33 weeks pregnant with the "boy". Once again grateful and feeling blessed for every single day that goes by that I'm still pregnant with this baby. It's been an enjoyable and wonderful journey all along and of course I'm loving every single moment of it.

It's December 29th and only a few days left till the end of the year. When I woke up this morning I asked my husband "The German" if he was going to make any New Year's resolutions and he looked at me like I had a third eye on my forehead. I guess the answer to that is NO.....well you know him being European and all I guess it's just not their thing.

Having spent half of my adulthood life in North America, I will be making a few New Year's resolutions. I will start them once everything gets back to normal and that's on January 7th, 2013. Emma will be back at school and I will have some alone time to start executing some of those resolutions.

I will post them on here on January 1st, 2013 so you all know what they are and keeping fingers crossed that I will fulfill all of them if not at least 95% of them. Yes over-achiever I am indeed, and it's all good.

Heading out to Yorkville for the rest of the afternoon to see the Xmas Lights in Yorkville and stroll around the neighbourhood like the rich people do....LOL. Will check out Holt Renfrew on Bloor, who knows we might find stuff on SALE...ooh gawd who am I kidding seriously.

Thanks for reading and stay warm and cosy out there!

December 26, 2012

Eating, nibbling, grazing, grabbing, handfuls here and there does not even begin to define what I have been doing since December 23, 2012. OMG it's been a Marathon of hand to mouth action over the past couple of days and I'm still going strong....ooh man.

So a quick run through of what happened during the last couple of days, well besides the eating I managed to complete a few projects along the way. I finally went through Emma's baby clothes sorting them out to see if there was  I could salvage for the new baby and ooh boy did I ever find stuff in those boxes.

I think when I was shopping for Emma I must have thought I was having triplets or something as that child had tons and tons of clothes. I honestly know that she must have worn some things for like half a day or something as I don't even remember having had those things.

I sorted out the clothes in three piles, Keepers, Charity, Giving to Friends and Garbage. As emotional as it was to let go of some of the clothes it had to be done as Emma would never wear them again and the child that I'm pregnant with is a BOY unless the Ultrasound technician made a huge mistake and the boy turns out to be a girl..........ooh man that would be funny in a weird way and I guess I won't be giving away those clothes.

I have also been doing laundry, endless loads of laundry of the crib bedding, bassinet bedding etc. OMG it's so much stuff to wash for the baby, I had forgotten how much stuff these babies have.....LOL.

In other news we had a lovely Christmas, Santa did stop by our house this year and he came bearing loads and loads of gifts. Emma and Jeremie were quiet thrilled with what they got and now the house is filled with toys everywhere as they have to play with them.

Below are a few snap shots of our Christmas Dinner.....yes there was lots and lots of food and now we have lots and lots of left overs....

And yes I even went on to make my very own Coconut Cake, Barefoot Contessa at Home Recipe....OMG is the cake ever rich and decadent.....that woman honestly has zero concept of low fat....
Ooh Yummy, well I guess Christmas only comes once a year and when it's around we have to EAT UP.

I'm making Butternut Squash Soup for dinner tonight with some home-made panini's. We need to eat light tonight after yesterday's dinner which was way too much.

Thanks for reading!

Christmas Eve Post

It's been a few weeks since my last post and of course lots of things have happened since then. OK so I will get right to it before I forget what I want to let you all know...

So I pulled off the wonderful Cookie Swap and glad to say that it turned out quiet beautifully. No-one got hurt and it was a very long cookie swap....it started at 7:00pm and ended at 2:30am. Well we continued the Cookie Swap at my friend Erin's house where we just chilled and hung out till 2:00am.

Drove back home and by the time I was in bed it was 2:30am. Below is how I packed my cookies for the cookie swap and there were filled with Almond Nuts alright..LOL

I'm now 32 weeks pregnant and once again enjoying every single moment of it. I bumped into a woman named "Fabian" who just moved to Canada from France that goes to the same Midwives as me at my Acqu Bellies class and it was great chitty chatting about how incredible our Midwives are.

In keeping up with the Xmas celebrations we had a cheese platter lunch the other day. It's amazing the different types of cheeses you can find now and make your very own delicious cheese platter without paying an arm and a leg. I just marvel when I see people at the grocery store buying those pre-made cheese platter with the boring cheddar cheeese............Yuck, Yuck...see below what I was able to create with the different cheeses that I found at good old Costco.

And now it's Christmas Eve as I'm blogging and waiting for Emma to go to bed so we can wrap the presents for her. She thinks Santa is still in Germany right now....LOL. Reason being we spoke with her cousins and Uncle via Google+ earlier today and they had opened their presents already so we mentioned that Santa had already stopped by their house. Ooh the mind of a 5 year old....:-)

My Christmas dinner menu still needs to be finalized and I'm hoping to complete that before I go to bed so I know what I need to start working on after our Christmas breakfast...........:-)

Happy Holidays Everyone and I will blog again before the New Year...

30 weeks and going strong

Well what do you know, low and behold I'm now 30 weeks pregnant.....Yay it's the home stretch and I feel fabulous...except for the horrible runny nose that I have been battling since last week Wednesday. So I'm thinking its a combination of two things, we had a very mild day last week and I took it upon myself to be under dressed because I thought I could get away with it.

The other scenario will be the "stepson" had some sort of bug in his system that forced him to spend a day and a half at home and I could have gotten IT from him. Anyways I guess we are just going to leave everything to speculation and let the dust settle. I'm not a Doctor nor do I plan on being one so there you have it....LOL.

The Christmas season is now in full swing and of course everyone is on a frenzy with shopping, road rage and parking rage. So I decided to join the frenzy club with organizing a cookie swap for the WBTL Mommy Group. In my single days I participated in a cookie swap and it was awesome and of course the wine always keeps the fun on the up and up.

I sent out a quick question to see who was IN and the responses where positive so I said to myself....Woo Hoo it's party time and laid out the basic foundation of what to do. I made the cookie swap a free for all meaning the Mom's could make whatever cookies they want and ZERO RULES, regulations or dietary restrictions. Well what did I know that there would be a huge debate on Facebook about what they should make.

Ooh gawd do people NOT understand basic English. This other mom started asking if she should be making gluten, dairy or nut free cookies for the swap. I'm like you need to read your emails woman before you start getting everyone all worked up on a fun experience and turning it into a freaking circus. I responded back in a mellow tone and explained the rules again and of course another "dumb ass" mom says good idea first mom we should totally make it nut free....

HELL NO second mom what the heck are you smoking....if you have allergies don't participate.....why are you killing my cookie swap......Aaarrrgghhh. So l fired back in a not so mellow tone....and told her that we will NOT be going nut free as this is not some NUT FREE cookie swap, the base of my cookies are almonds..so there.....LOL

YES that was very mean of me BUT its my cookie swap and I will make it whatever I want it to be. At the end of the day I can always blame it on the pregnancy hormones....which I have to say honestly have been pretty mellow.

In other weekend news a friend gave birth on Sunday to a beautiful baby girl....Congrats Kristy & I need to get my butt over to the hospital to go and see the new baby and hear all the details of labour and delivery. I'm thinking of going there tomorrow after my appointment with my midwives.

That's all for now, I have to go and find black tights for Emma to wear with her School Concert Dress on Thursday.....Woot, Woot it's going to be very exciting.....:-)
